A Glimpse at Future vehicles

Future Cars

My car is getting quite old lately, I have had it since I first passed my driving test over five years ago, the ford fiesta has done me well, it sometimes reminds me of a warrior because it just goes on and on and it never lets me down. But recently the body work and interior has started to get a bit messy, with rust and the rest.

So I have been saving all of my pennies and am now looking through brochures of new cars. I really do not know what to buy yet so it's becoming quite awkward, I surf online everyday to see if anything that may catch my eye.

More recently while searching through the vide site YouTube I saw this great little video of how cars may look in the future. If you have a look at the above video the future cars will blow your mind away.

Looking at the silver Peugeots or the silver BMW is just amazing and I honestly do believe that in the next 10 years we will be seeing cars that are a lot more rounded. We are progressing technology wise at great speeds, if we go back to the 90s you will remember that cars were square because people did not know how to manipulate metals.

So after viewing this clip I am going to hide my money away and save a bit more until that ultimate futuristic car gets released which I can then go out and buy brand new. Allow upto five more years before we see these on the market.

New Cars are Not Built to Last

Friday, March 6th, 2009

In this day and age cars are a necessity in everyone’s life, if you are relying on public transport then you should expect being late to anywhere you go. People these days want to have extravagant cars to drive around in and they end up causing a fortune.

But is it really worth buying a new car these days? Let us see the reason why I do not really like this.
1.)  New cars are not made to last in this day and age; the manufacturers are very clever and only build cars for a certain lifespan so a new one has to be purchased.
2.) Even if the cars were built to last people are spread out all over the country, so basically people cover a lot more miles than they used to in the old days.
3.) Service parts for a vehicle cost a fortune.

I think back to when I first got my drivers licence, it was an amazing time, but I was driving a car that had been built in 1985 and done a huge amount of miles but never let me down. Nowadays I purchase newer cars and they are forever causing me a life time of problems.

Most people decide to purchase their vehicles on finance so by the time they pay them off the car would be dead anyway and then they would have to go and buy a new one, the manufacturers are very clever.  So in my opinion car leasing is probably one of the best options you pay probably less than you would as a monthly rate for finance, then when your term is up you hand the car back and get a brand new one, plus avoiding all of the cost of repairs and break downs.

2009 BMW 7 Series. Luxury supreme

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

The flagship BMW is back to reclaim its top position and is really on the right track.

Power

Under the hood is bigger and better than any previous effort in the seven series – the 750iL boasts a mighty 400 horsepower (which is more than 40 more horses than before) and can rocket from zero to sixty in less than five seconds.  Although the miles per gallon of the new  4.4 liter V8 engine are a bit modest in terms of conservation (15 city and 23 highway), they are still competitive among the big boys in the luxury class.

Comfort

The new 750iL is big in terms of power, but the older versions often came under a lot of criticism when it came to the interior.  Larger bodied individuals often passed up previous cars in the seven series even though the power and handling were second to none, simply because they didn’t feel there was enough room for them in the cockpit.Yet another complaint about the previous model was that there was no seat adjustments to easily accomodate larger individuals.

BMW has reacted to criticisms of the previous model's interior by improving on the cab's head and leg room space. The arrangement of the control panel has also been made to please the driver.

The seven series is usually a chauffeur driven car but even the dignitaries will want to get a drive as often as possible.

Behind the Wheel

Incredible, almost space age options take the driving experience and the luxury car’s handling to unimaginable new levels.  You can choose from such amenities like night vision, side view cameras, rear wheel drive, and pedestrian detection to drastically increase the safety and security that you’ll feel when you get behind the wheel.

The new 750iL also has greatly improved control with individually operating electronic dampers as well as anti-roll technology. The benefits of advanced electronics is that the car is become evident in the wet where the big 7 is up for the challenge.

BMW has always been a force to be reckoned with in the world of luxury cars, but even they seem to have outdone themselves with the new 750iL.For eighty thousand dollars you get more than the price value as it is a real pleasure to be in this car whether it is moving or standing still.

How To Choose Used BMW Motorcycle Parts

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Used BMW Motorcycle Parts

The first motorcycles were in fact just simply motorized bicycles that had engines attached to bike frames. Over the years they have developed into very complicated machines. Technology has put to work to increase control, fuel economy, speed and comfort. If you have a BMW motorcycle and you own the bike for an extended period of time, you are, at some point, going to need BMW motorcycle parts. You can buy new parts but used BMW motorcycle parts are often just as good and are available at a much better price. All separate components have their own purposes, but they depend on the other parts around them.

A Small Lesson in Motorcycle Anatomy

The motorcycle chassis
This is one of the most important motorcycle parts. It includes the frame, suspension and front forks. The frame is typically made from welded steel or aluminum struts with the rear suspension included as an integral component. Expensive frames can even be constructed from carbon fiber or titanium. The frame includes the head tube that holds the pivoting front fork.

Suspension
The front suspension is often built into the front fork, but the rear suspension is optional. Chopper motorcycles usually forgo the rear suspension and use a rigid frame instead. The rear suspension can consist of several arrangements, including traditional mono-shock suspensions, dual shocks, or soft-tail style suspensions. The front fork holds the front wheel and allows the rider to steer. The most critical part for steering of all the motorcycle parts is the front fork.

Other motorcycle parts

  • the engine (vertical single, vertical twin, V-twin, opposed twin, in-line triple and in-line four)
  • transmission (five or six forward gears, reverse gear)
  • tires
  • brakes (drum or disc based, with disc brakes being the most common on larger motorcycles)
  • final drive (chain drive, belt drives or shaft drive)
  • instruments (speedometers, odometers, tachometers and fuel gauges)

There are special companies that deal only in new or used BMW motorcycle parts, they are solely focused on the BMW brand. This means these kind of companies will probably be able to help you if you are looking for a special part. They often have new and used parts off the shelf what meant they can deliver quick and at a good price.

Buying At Motorcycle salvage yards

A real good option if you really want to save as much money as possible are motorcycle salvage yards. There are many of these large businesses in the country and in fact all over the world, but its is best to build a relationschip with your local salvage yard. If they know who you are and they know what you are looking for, they will be on the look out for used BMW motorcycle parts you need.

Just remember that if you are buying used parts you will need to put a bit more effort into checking the parts before you buy them. You need to make sure a part is not damaged or deformed. But if you put just that little bit of time and effort into looking for the right used BMW motorcycle parts you should be able to find just what you need, and for a great price.

Sports Car Modifying Tips

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

BMW Automobile

Are you planning to improve the aesthetic appearance of your car? Want to get that sleek look? Then here are some styling tips that will help you dress up your car.

What products to choose from

When deciding what kind of setup you will do to your car, you should first keep in mind that there are a multitude of products being sold out there which claim increased performance and economical. But the reality is there are some good ones and many of bad ones. Be choosy when looking for car accessories and remember it is not a bad idea to look at the branded products before considering untested brands.

The wheels

One of the initial things that a car enthusiast does when dressing up a car is to replace the existing wheels with custom made ones. But this is not just for looks since performance wheels and tires also enhance a car’s handling and performance. Selecting between tall wheels and short ones will be the next step. Bigger wheels demands notice and improve the look of a car dramatically. Although smaller wheels can have that vintage or retro look.

Stickers Fiesta

Applying sticker art designs on the hood or the other parts of the car body is one of the cheapest ways to alter and customize your car. Sticker designs range from famous logos of performance parts manufacturers as well as those designed for rally and indy races. If you are capable of making your own stickers, it is important to get permission for copying a design as it may be copyrighted. If you are planning to put stickers on the hood, choose the kind that will not be damaged by the heat of the engine. Metallic foil stickers are suitable for use on car hoods.

Lowering Kits

Lowering your car means making your car more stable when turning and giving it an aggressive and sporty look. Cars are not the only ones that have lowering kits, so if you have a pickup truck, chances are, there is a lowering kit made for your vehicle. Although having a lower ride means improved handling, the trade off is poor ride quality since the car springs are stiffer and shorter.

These are some of the ideas that you can do to improve the look and stance of your car. Your car represents you, so naturally you want it to look attractive. Of course, having a good looking car also means spending thousands of dollars. If this is your passion, then paying extra will not be an issue for you.

The Reasons Why People Buy Sports Cars

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

BMW Automobile

Sports cars are performance vehicles that provide driving satisfaction. They allow a person to engage in the absolute driving experience and be in touch directly with the motorway, as diametrically as possible.

In the automobile industry where economy automobiles, “family sedans” and SUV’s dominate the field, sports cars definitely stand out.

These types of cars, for the able and skilled drivers, can give maximum performance on the road. Not all drivers are equally skilled, but to individuals who are capable of feeling and understanding the faint messages of these vehicles, they can indulge in a rewarding and satisfying driving experience since sports cars are intended to be driven fairly fast.

Because of this driving pleasure, many people choose sports car. This is just one of the many reasons why people like these automobiles. Other reasons include:

1. Appearance. The aerodynamic design of a sports car makes it appealing to car fans. Although when you are making an automotive investment, this should not be the principal or only reason to purchase that vehicle. Functionality should be the primary consideration even though beauty and style will also enter into your decision.

2. Driving features. While other vehicles are mainly designed for affordability, sports cars gives emphasis on performance and execution. The trait and condition of driving a sports car is an experience often unmatched.

Keeping in mind their very discriminating car drivers, sports cars easily out perform the road execution of other automobiles. Drivers can easily accelerate when required, hug turns, and have a certain driving technology that is not provided by most vehicles.

3. Fun plus excitement. The driving qualities of a sports car are providing excitement and thrill.

One can spend hours talking about pleasurable experiences such as curve hugging while not taking one’s foot off the accelerator or zooming past slow moving traffic yet remaining in full control or talk about the feeling of gratification , and knowing that one is driving a car with superb engineering.

4. Duration and resale value. Each new car depreciates the very second it is driven. However, sports cars will become more valuable as time passes, because of their above-mentioned qualities and are expected to become potential classics that will retain their value.

One does not need to make their car choice a statement, although if one chooses, the opportunity is right there. Owning a sports vehicle will make a statement about the owner’s personality.

BMW has always produced quality sports cars especially their motorsport editions such as the Custom BMW M3 and as sports cars enthusiasts BMW owners like to modify their BMW car.
