Honda hybrid models became available on the market in 1990′s and they were introduced in the United States in 1999. Honda Insight opened the road, quickly followed by the response of Toyota with the appearance of the Prius. It seems that Honda hybrid models enjoy high sales rates as well as the Toyota ones even though in the United States Honda has taken the lead. Honda Civic hybrid set the sales record in 2004. The only inconvenience that Honda hybrid models and other companies’ designs have in common is that the batteries are toxic for the environment.
